Police in Anchorage, Alaska, deployed a drone to help
them locate a hiker who had gone missing in a wooded area on Saturday, March
28.
According to police, dispatchers received a call from a
woman who went off-trail in a wooded area and was no longer able to see her
footprints in windy conditions.
Police sent officers who were in the area to find the
woman on foot, while another officer sent up the drone. Once deployed, the
drone located the woman within 15 minutes, using an infrared camera. The drone
officer was able to tell the woman his colleagues were on the way. “She was
really happy to hear the mysterious voice in the sky,” police added.
“All’s well that ends well! We got her out safe and
sound,” police wrote. See video
